Although a Minnesotan, I spent much of my Childhood in Rhode Island. I was a "Navy Brat" who loved to draw and had a tendency to do so on anything available....book covers, my mother's recipes, my brother's homework. I even drew a design...in ink...on one of my mother's purses.....the end of my clothing design career! It always was a "given" that I would be an artist, and I went on to get a BA in Art Education from the University of Maryland, but as it often does, life intervened and I graduated at a time when there were too many teachers and schools were eliminating arts programs. So into the job market I went and ended up working on Capitol Hill and running associations. I also got a Master's Degree from George Washington University. I semi-retired in 2014 and moved to South Carolina where I joined the Crooked Creek Art League and my artistic life was revived. Over the years I occasionally did charcoal portraits, but it had been a while since I picked up a brush. I now dive into art and have been rewarded with a number of awards. My media of choice is oil, but I also have experimented with charcoal, mixed media, encaustic and watercolor painting. Thanks for visiting my website. I hope you enjoy it and I would love to hear from you.
